Here with another baby quilt I completed earlier this year. I got to dig into my scraps for this one. This quilt was for a baby girl, and I wanted it to be happy with a nod toward the traditional. So I decided on a nine-patch design with a white background.
The colors are perfect for spring. I decided to use two different borders to add more interest and give it more color. I had to add a little bit of stripe to the polka-dot binding…just to add some whimsy.
For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of this backing fabric. I loved the little birds. It almost looks like a bunch of mama and daddy birds loving on their babies.
I did a simple straight-line stitch on the diagonal to create a cross weave. So happy with the simple but beautiful colors and design. You just can’t go wrong with a nine-patch.
